Supporting Our Community Through COVID-19
Just a few weeks into the coronavirus outbreak, our Food & Supply Pantry was up and running!
On April 7th, 2020, CCC launched a safe, socially-distanced Food & Supply Pantry. When we had to shut down our usual programs and saw the critical interpersonal impact of the pandemic, we immediately started working to find out how to support our community through this crisis. With the help of community partners, we were able to open a pop-up pantry operating out of our gymnasium.
In just the first 6 days of operating the pantry, we distributed a total of 3,094 bags of food and supplies to 799 households - and that was just the start! Ever since we opened back in early April, our pantry has continued catering to the needs of our community members. Still open Tuesdays - Fridays, we continue to serve ~ 700 to 1000 households each and every week.

Our "Partners in Pantry"
Thanks to generous food donations from our friends at Food For Free and Lovin' Spoonfuls, we've been able to offer our community members quality and nutritious foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to other quality grocery items. Additionally, the Central Square BID has secured essential supply donations (including toilet paper, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, etc.) for us to distribute.
The State of Hunger
The following infographic illustrates the stark reality of the hunger crisis - in Massachusetts alone.
It is important to note that hunger in our home state has not effected all community members equally. Statistics illustrate that hunger is yet another factor continuing to perpetuate racial inequality.

We'll Get Through It Together
The Center is so grateful to have the opportunity to offer our community members the essential resources they need to navigate this trying time. In these times of crisis, we want our community to know that we're here to support them.

Even if you're not able to donate to our COVID-19 Relief Fund, you can still support our pantry by spreading the word!
Help us raise awareness by showing your support - networking is an essential tool in helping us to find the resources our community desperately needs and truly deserves.
