Cambridge Adventure Program
The Cambridge Adventure Program (C.A.P.) utilizes concepts central to Adventure-Based Counseling to provide youth facilitators with skills necessary to run adventure activities for groups of younger participants.
One of the primary benefits of Adventure Programming for school-age populations is the focus on cooperation over competition. Overcoming challenges as a cohesive unit is the central vehicle for changing behavior, and gives rise to growth across developmental domains including social functioning, self-regulation, and problem solving. In their training, youth facilitators come together as a team while learning to deliver the same activities to campers. |
